Where tradition meets modernity, Shroud House is an architectural project located in the heart of Euroa. This striking Californian Bungalow retains its classic exterior shell, preserving the charm and character of the original design, while seamlessly integrating a contemporary extension that caters to the needs of modern family living.
The original spaces were in dire need of revitalization, as the existing floorplan was cramped and lacked functionality. Our design aimed to expand this layout, creating a contemporary environment that enhances both light and volume, thereby reviving the beauty of the home’s original period details.
The transformation of Shroud House has turned what was once a dim and impractical interior into a bright, inviting space that fosters a sense of openness and connection with the outdoors. By strategically reconfiguring the floorplan, we have created a harmonious flow between the interior and the exterior, allowing natural light to cascade into the now open-plan living. This new layout not only enhances the livability of the home but also celebrates the interplay between its historical elements and modern design features, ensuring that Shroud House stands as a testament to thoughtful architecture that respects its past while embracing the future. The result is a family home that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, designed to accommodate the lifestyle of its inhabitants while honoring the rich architectural heritage of the region.
